The movie would have been amazing without Harley Quinn. It almost felt like after it was finished filming, the studio said. "Go add Harley Quinn" the writers and director asked "like just a cameo? They said "no like go back and make the whole thing about her" and that's what we got in theaters. A jumbled mess that should have been a great birds of prey movie, but dropped to being another meh Harley Quinn feature film. Disappointing. Had so much potential, wasted on Harley's arc.

Watch*OnLine*Birds*of*Prey: And*the*Fantabulous One main qualm from people who reviewed the Harley movie is that it's all over the place. Disagree. This film is just as much all over the place as any action movie. The pacing reminded me of Snatch, where you get a little backstory here and there, but there's still a main plot.
Others say Birds of Prey is a #metoo movement movie. Again, disagree. The plot of BOP has always been about female superheroes. It doesn't suddenly exist because of equality. Even before the #metoo thing, it seemed like every time there was an action movie staring women, people rush to call the movie a bad and trash it.
This is a fun movie with tons of action, killer music, and loads of laughs. It's also interesting to note that "The Joke's on You" plays in both Joker and this movie which is essentially a Harley Quinn film. Margot Robbie was born to play her. This was better executed than Suicide Squad. Worth mentioning that Ewan McGregor does a solid performance as Black Mask.
If the fact that this stars women bothers you than you're the problem.
One argument that's valid is how the character Cassandra Cain is misrepresented. This is not at all the character from the comics. She's just a random girl with the same name with no correlation to Orphan. Orphan would've been a cool character to introduce from comics. Instead, Cassandra Cain is wasted as some random girl who needs help. The character is interesting, but not Orphan. They should've given the young girl in the film another name, because it annoyed a lot of people who are familiar with Orphan, and for good reason. That aside, this movie rocks and I agree with my friend who recommended it. Ignore the bad reviews and judge this for yourself. Also, look up DC's Orphan if you don't know who she is... a really amazing character who could probably beat up Batman; and he admits it in the comics.
